We have recently been instructed to recruit an experiencedDesktop & Server Support Technician - 2nd/3rd line Support Engineer based in Ashford, Kent. Day to day responsibilities - To handle escalated calls from first/second line technicians - Administer and maintain corporate infrastructure, including Active Directory, LAN, Internet access, firewalls and Exchange 2010 - Administer the Hyper-V HAC and SAN - Administer the software application and desktop operating system standard build - Administer the Avaya IP 500 VOIP telephone system - Monitor and troubleshoot server and network performance to ensure any necessary action is taken - Administer backup and disaster recovery systems and processes - Management of relationships with third parties and suppliers - Keep operational documentation up-to-date - Research, recommend, plan and implement infrastructure system projects - Ensure security appliances/software is constantly updated and operational - Assist with enforcement and governance of all Information Security matters Technical skills required - Must have excellent knowledge of; - Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 including NLB and clustering - Hyper-V - Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 - Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy - Will have a solid understanding of and experience in; - Troubleshooting networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and vLANs - Backing up systems (preferably AppAssure) - Antivirus, Spyware, Adware, Malware, Ransomware, IDS, IPS solutions - Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10 - Installing, configuring and managing switches and routers - Will have a knowledge of; - SQL Server 2008 - iSCSI/Fibre channel Storage Area - Windows Script Host/VBScript/PowerShell - Patch management deployment/Windows Software Update Services
