A Supported Housing client is looking for a Weekend Cook to provide the Saturday and Sunday midday meal for 20 residents. Hours of work are Saturday and Sunday 0900-1400 and the rate of pay is £10.30 per hour. You will receive 8 days holiday per year. Key responsibilities: To provide a supportive environment & to maintain a high standard of dietary needs. Specific Duties: To control and order provisions, liaising with the House Manager, and assist with budgets. To prepare and cook one meal a day, ensuring a balanced diet with special attention to individual dietary needs, Saturday & Sunday To ensure variety and presentation to include seasonal fresh produce. To comply with current Food Hygiene regulations, environmental health requirements and Health & Safety at Work requirements. To adhere to stock control procedures as laid down by the House Manager including rotation of stored foods i.e. frozen, fresh and dry packaged. To ensure proper storage of food, and food in damaged packaging to be transferred to new containers as promptly as possible. To be responsible for the cupboards, equipment and utensils and the cleaning of same. Reporting any breakages or problems to the House Manager for remedy. To supervise and be responsible for staff who enter the kitchen area. No tenant is permitted in the kitchen. To report to the House Manager any concerns and observations concerning tenants and their meals. Person specification: Essential Qualifications and Experience: Extensive catering experience in a commercial kitchen Relevant Food Hygiene Certificate CIEH Level 3 (or higher) in Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent) Supportive of a charitable, caring organisations aims and values This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/74862226
