Job Title: QC Manager Location: Sevenoaks, Western Kent, England Employment Type: Contract IR35: Inside Pay Rate: £485 per day Umbrella Job Description - The Quality Manager will be responsible for embedding quality management for scientific activities in UKDEF, aligning the work with the corporate Quality Management System (QMS). The role holder will capitalize on the areas of the business that already hold accreditation and engender an ethos of quality ownership, building consistency across the DEF. The management of quality will encompass all aspects of operations including safety and project management - To develop and maintain an audit programme in support of operations, adherence to corporate QMS and compliance with associated legislative requirements. - To review and implement changes to UK DEF owned process, which support the drive to improve efficiency and deliver customer satisfaction. - Promote an ethos of continuous improvement. - To implement a strategy and assurance programme to ensure ISO9001, ISO 17025 and all other relevant accreditation and regulatory compliance across all aspects of the DEF's work. - To ensure all personnel within UKDEF are operating in a consistent and effective way through the assurance and monitoring of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), appropriate risk management, maintained personnel competence and quality systems. - To audit existing SOPs and Quality Systems and support teams in the creation of new ones, where applicable. - To enhance the systems used across the DEF and support the accreditation of relevant processes. - Hold regular quality management meetings with management, project management, subject matter experts and practitioners, as appropriate, to ensure procedures are fit for purpose and instigate all necessary changes to maintain compliance. - Regular meetings will be held with managers, practitioners, quality managers and project managers, as appropriate to review and update progress. - All quality system information will be held electronically and available for staff to refer to. - Relationships Working Group Leaders, Team Leaders and practitioners. - Networking with similar quality professionals across the company and externally. - Qualifications Minimum of a degree in a scientific subject e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Physics Experience Essential - Knowledge of the ISO17025:2005 standard and how this relates to a forensic science laboratory setting. - Experienced Auditor - Competent with MS Office Applications - Competencies Managing a Quality Service - Translate complex aims into clear and manageable plans.
