As the Portering Manager your duties will include: • Being accountable for the development and implementation of aims, objectives and new initiatives, as required both locally and nationally • Progressively implementing the service level specifications required to comply with performance monitoring standards • Ensuring staffing levels are commensurate to meet the wards/areas/department requirements daily • Ensuring regular liaison with service users, including patients and staff • Taking responsibility for the assessment of materials, equipment and methods of practice in order to achieve maximum efficiency in service • Managing team effectively by ensuring all rotas are completed and that annual leave entitlements are taken and covered within budget whilst ensuring that all areas are staffed to suitable levels • Signing of payroll weekly • Monitoring and controlling the portering budget, including all budgetary records are maintained and regularly reviewed • Contributing to the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance reports. To be a successful Portering Manager you will have the following skills and experience: • Experience working in the healthcare portering industry and managing a team. • An effective and inspirational team leader and possess the desire to grow with the organisation, progressing your career. • Excellent organisational and people management skills.
