Purpose of the role: The Bid Manager is responsible for the management, planning and execution of the full bid lifecycle and focusing on bids for all publicly-funded or charitable organisations as part of the central bid team. Responsibilities: Implementing a variety of winning bid strategies ensuring all technical, commercial and financial aspects of the estimation and proposal creation process are executed in a timely and professional manner Research, evaluation and organisation of compelling tender documentation ensuring high levels of consistency and quality, that sufficiently captures Apogee’s offer and provides an accurate starting point for future opportunities Initiate and manage stakeholder meetings and collaboration with relevant staff across all business areas including sales, marketing, professional services, service, finance, purchasing and administration Re-write contributions from stakeholders as required to produce the optimal, consistent styled response Manage and maintain a central library of tender information and previously submitted tender responses that serves as a source for all sales teams and the bid team for Public Sector opportunities Support the salesforce in developing sales presentations based on tender responses Manage Apogee’s subscriptions that identify tender opportunities in the Public Sector, allocating and supporting responses through regional sales operations Liaise with the marketing team to create or update marketing materials, company policies and other literature to increase the success rates of tender responses. Person Specification: Extensive experience and proven expertise in the production of winning tender responses and proposals in the Public Sector marketplace Ability to manage the delivery of multiple bids, managing budgets in excess of £500k Possess a good understanding of the way in which “Managed Services” are delivered in order to influence, monitor and challenge every aspect of the bid i.e. project management, finance, planning and delivery Commercially astute, and able to structure a bid to present the offer in the best light whilst minimising risk to the business Strong customer focus and ability to influence and negotiate with people at mid-levels within Apogee and customer organisations, whilst fostering strong working relationships. Work Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:30pm Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm Closed Weekends and Bank Holidays Please note this is a full time position and we are unable to consider applicants seeking part-time opportunities.
