We are currently recruiting for a global manufacturing client in the area (non-food) and employer of choice for a Production Shift Leader (PSL) working on the late shift (2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday only) The PSL will manage, organise and control, the entire shift and other resources for Production, to ensure that delivery schedules, production volumes, quality cost and safety outcomes are all achieved in line with company KPI’s., Applicants are urgently required from individuals ideally with 2 years experience in a similar leadership role (ie. at least supervisory, but ideally managerial). We are searching for an individual with strong skills in: Leadership, Planning, Organising, Communication Results Delivery, Problem Solving, Motivating Others, Team Orientation, Innovation and Quality/Continuous Improvement and Change Orientation. Essential Functions Plan, organise and control all production activity to ensure KPI’s etc Recruit, lead and motivate a group of colleagues to ensure that sufficient people with the required knowledge, attitude and skill set are in place in order to meet production demands The PSL will create and sustain a climate where strong employee relations are maintained You will compile and analyse relevant data regarding the achievement of KPI’s to identify underlying trends, implement opportunities to enhance performance and optimise the use of resources Monitor and review working practice taking corrective action and providing guidance to Production Team Leaders and others as required ensuring that regulatory, quality plus health & safety standards are met Appraise, develop and coach team members in new ways of working so that they become self-managing whenever possible in meeting changing customer/business unit requirements Promotion of continuous improvement activities to develop improved ways of working Act as the focal point for support services ie. IT, Technical Support, Engineering and Maintenance to ensure that required standard of service are provided. Any production management experience gained in a pharmaceutical related/medical device organisation considered an advantage, although non-essential.
