Job Description: As part of a dedicated team of individuals working directly on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 migration program for EMEA, the Solutions Architect will lead the development and support/Design of the existing server environments over to the target state of Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 or other Unix Platform, i.e. RedHat or AIX. Understand transformation techniques of O/S migration This position requires broad technical expertise in the design and development of network, server, storage, and related solutions as well as ensuring the health, integrity, scalability and availability of the environment. Knowledge from working in a similar role will assist the Solution Architect with the program to exit from operating on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Operating System. Other areas include; - Directly involved with the procurement, architecture, design, and development of all infrastructure technology assets (storage systems, Database design, server design and implementation, etc.) - Collaboration on the creation and implementation of standards for infrastructure technologies and documentation standards. - Plan and maintain disaster recovery/business continuity components and procedures. - Identify weaknesses, restrictions, and security concerns imposed by existing IT infrastructure and suggest solutions to resolve the issues. - Analyse user needs and provide guidance in the selection of hardware and software for end-user and corporate computing. Skills Preferred; - 8 years' experience in the IT industry and implementation experience in a medium to large environment performing design installation, configuration, and troubleshooting duties. - In Depth knowledge of Windows 2003/2008/2012 implementation / upgrades / migrations, system administration Active Directory, Boot from SAN, Trouble shooting and root cause analysis skills, Disaster Recovery. - Data Center consolidation planning and execution included in migration and transformation technology. - Ability to create and communicate HLD/LLD solution documents (HLD are for architecture engagement customer review, LLD are internal documents provided by SME's and LoS for support and delivery). - Strong and thorough understanding of Disaster Recovery components and procedures to include HA/DR and BCP. Full understanding of SLA's thru the delivery cycle, RTO/RPO. - 3 years' experience in SAN and NAS technology and architectures, including the ability to work with EMC and NetApp storage VSAN. - SuSE and RedHat Linux experience - 3 years' experience in VMWARE vSphere 5/6 - Dell server hardware knowledge - Interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills - Analytical and problem solving skills - Process Oriented - Ability to manage stakeholders - Training and presentation skills Skills Desired; - Desktop virtualization experience: VMWare /Citrix - Ability to develop automation process using UNIX and Windows shell/batch scripting languages. - Knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, file transfer and secure file transfer protocols, IIS, Layer - 2, Layer-3, and Layer-4 switching, VLANS, Routing Protocols such as OSPF, WAN and LAN experience, Vlan's VPN's 3rd party access and VDI, SoX Network security, Veronis IPS/IDS - Familiar with most aspects of systems/software administration, such as: system installation and configuration, security levels and permissions, installation of third-party software, backup systems, etc. Spring Technology is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
