Lead Pricing Delivery Analyst - Commercial Packages - Leading Insurer Are you an experienced senior pricing analyst who has experience with rating engine development within the general insurance industry? Job Description This is an exciting role where you will own, maintain and monitor rating algorithms and documentation for a range of commercial projects for one of the most trusted names in UK insurance. Working with the business to understand their needs you will responsible for design, as well as programming, and testing, before handing over to the BAU pricing function. As a lead you will step up and deputise for the pricing manager in their absence, and have an active role in mentoring and developing junior analysts within the team. This is a projects focused role, and as such means there will be very little repetitive work. Your duties as a lead pricing delivery analyst within commercial packages will include but not be limited to the following: · Engage with functions including change, testing, product developers, product owners, and pricing analysts to ensure the Commercial rating strategy is supported. · Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders to ensure that business needs and timeframes are met · Support the development of the pricing strategy for commercial lines by suggesting recommendations to improve company's rating efficiency and longer-term pricing delivery capability · Play an active role in the induction and training of new members to the team thus ensuring a personal feel to their integration into the team; act as a first point of contact on technical and process issues · Interact effectively with peers in other areas of the business to improve knowledge share and understand impacts of your work across the wider business. Ensure learnings are effectively communicated across the team · Identify opportunities for improvements to enable tasks to be performed in a more efficient manner. Challenge current processes appropriately with suggestions as to how these can be refined · Develop knowledge of pricing and underwriting systems and processes; develop your business, market knowledge and awareness of relevant industry issues which impact your area & incorporate in the work that you do · Develop yourself in order to maximise your personal contribution to the team and identify opportunities to gain additional skills, including through secondments and/or rotations The Successful Applicant As a lead pricing delivery analyst it is going to be essential that you have a proven background in writing algorithms as well as, designing and building rating engines. Ideally you will have used tools such as RADAR and SAS, and have programmed within these, or a similar software. It is also essential that you will also have done this within the general insurance industry, with commercial lines being a big plus. Due to the amount of stakeholder engagement, and this being a lead role, you will need to be a first class communicator, who is able to lead and influence others at various levels. It is also mandatory that you are educated to degree level within a relevant mathematically focused subject.
