Our client is an established, well managed business based in the East Grinstead area. Their pleasant working environment is evidenced by the long-service of their staff. They are currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their friendly, close-knit finance team.

• Acting as the main point of contact for all credit control issues.
• Contacting customers by telephone regarding their overdue balances.
• Building relationships with clients and internal departments.
• Issuing 7 day letters.
• Managing the invoicing & statement process.
• Setting-up of new customers, including obtaining trade references and using credit reference agency.
• Receiving payments using a variety of methods including direct debits, bank transfer, cheques and cards.
• Working to resolve historical debt including working with the company's insurers and debt collection agency.
• Journaling. Allocating payments.
• Reconciling accurately debtor accounts.
• Resolving queries by telephone, e-mail, letter.
• Recommending process improvements.

• Previous experience in dealing with credit control.
• Good communication skills.
• Professional telephone manner.
• Key to the role is your ability to develop relationships with customers and all internal departments.
• Proficient with the MS Office Suite including Word and Excel.
• Training will be given on the company's accounting systems.
